SICT and Mexico City Government agree on additional resources for Mexico-Toluca Train

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte.- In order to speed up and guarantee the continuity of the Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train (TIMT) works, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the Government of Mexico City agreed on a reallocation of additional resources for 350 million pesos for the work.

The Modifying Agreement to the Coordination Agreement regarding the reallocation of resources for the TIMT was signed by the head of the SICT, Civil Engineer Jorge Arganis Díaz-Leal and the Head of the Mexico City Government, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.

The reallocation of additional resources, which will total 1.3 billion pesos with respect to those set until March of this year (950 million pesos), will be allocated to the construction of a double-track railway section of the «Tren Interurbano de Pasajeros Toluca-Valle de México» (Toluca-Valle de México Interurban Passenger Train).

The train originates at the exit of the tunnels on the Mexico-Toluca highway with a station in Santa Fe and a terminal at the Observatorio Integral Transfer Center, a section called «Túnel Metro Observatorio», 16+935 kilometers long, starting at kilometer 40+765 and ending at kilometer 57+700, in Mexico City.
